Aerotel Madrid

Aerotel Madrid is the answer to one specific problem: a flight schedule that makes leaving the airport pointless. It’s the only hotel inside the terminals, 21 rooms on the public side of Terminal 4, one lift ride from arrivals. No shuttle, no taxi, no weather. If you knew it as HelloSky Air Rooms, this is the same property under new management: Plaza Premium Group reopened it as the first European outpost of its Aerotel chain, which runs in-terminal hotels at Heathrow, Changi and Kuala Lumpur.

Guest Rooms

There are two room types: the Deluxe Double with one double bed and the Deluxe Twin with two singles. Each has an ensuite bathroom with a strong shower, towels and slippers, a proper desk, blackout curtains, and complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water. Pillow options and a baby cot are available on request. For 21 rooms in a busy hub, they sell out; book ahead for peak dates.

Room amenities include:

  • Air conditioning
  • Desk
  • Complimentary hot drinks and water
  • Flatscreen TV
  • Hair dryer
  • Pillow menu
  • Wi-Fi

Hourly Stays and Showers

This is the one Madrid airport property built around the layover. Aerotel’s booking engine sells rooms by the hour, you choose your own check-in and check-out times, with day-use stays running from 10:00 to 18:00 alongside overnight bookings. Book online at least an hour before you arrive. The Air Shower rents in half-hour slots between 7:00 and 19:00 and comes with a shower kit: towel, shower gel, slippers, plus a hair dryer and mirror inside.

Breakfast and Dining

Breakfast is available, and there’s a small coffee corner by reception; that’s the extent of in-house dining. Terminal 4’s landside cafés and a convenience shop before security are a short walk away, so you won’t go hungry; you just won’t get a hotel restaurant.

Facilities and Services

The front desk runs 24 hours, which matters for red-eye arrivals. Wake-up calls and photocopying are available, and Wi-Fi is free throughout.

Location and Transportation

The hotel is on Floor -1 of Terminal 4, landside, between the metro station and the car rental desks. From T4 arrivals, walk to the ground floor and take the escalator or lift down one level.

Flying from T1, T2 or T3? The free transit bus connects all terminals 24 hours a day, every 5 minutes from 6:00 to 22:00 and every 20 minutes overnight; the ride to T4 takes about 10 minutes. The T4 metro (Line 8) and Cercanías C-1 station are steps from the hotel door, so a night here also works before a morning train into Madrid.

Nearby Alternatives

Meliá Barajas is the nearest full-service hotel, 2.5 km away with a free shuttle. Hilton Madrid Airport adds restaurants and a heated pool for a longer stopover. ibis Madrid Aeropuerto Barajas beats it on price if you don’t need to be inside the terminal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly is Aerotel Madrid inside the airport?

On Floor -1 of Terminal 4, in the public landside area between the metro station and the car rental desks. From T4 arrivals, take the escalator or lift down one level. You do not need a boarding pass to stay.

Can I book a room for a few hours during a layover?

Yes, that is the point of the place. Aerotel sells rooms by the hour as well as overnight, and you pick your own check-in and check-out times. There is also an Air Shower bookable in half-hour slots between 7:00 and 19:00, with a towel, shower gel and slippers included.

Is this the same hotel as HelloSky Air Rooms?

Yes. Plaza Premium Group took over the property and reopened it as Aerotel Madrid, the brand's first hotel in Europe. Same location on Floor -1 of Terminal 4; some booking sites still show the old HelloSky name.

How do I get there from Terminals 1, 2 or 3?

Take the free 24-hour transit bus to Terminal 4; it leaves every 5 minutes by day and every 20 minutes at night and takes about 10 minutes. From T4 arrivals, go down one floor by lift.
