Madrid Airport Parking and Park, Sleep, Fly
Driving to Madrid-Barajas leaves you two sane choices: park at the airport itself, or sleep beside it the night before and leave the car at the hotel. Both cost less with a little planning.
Aena’s own car parks
The airport operates the full range, from express and terminal car parks to a long-stay car park and a cheaper low-cost car park. The two budget options connect to every terminal by free microbuses that run 24 hours a day, so a dawn flight doesn’t rule them out. Book online ahead; drive-up rates are consistently worse. For getting between the car parks’ terminal stops and your actual terminal, the free transit bus covers the gaps (see the terminal guide).
Park, sleep, fly at a hotel
The pattern is simple: sleep near the airport, leave the car at the hotel, shuttle to the terminal.
NH Madrid Barajas Airport is the strongest fit. It advertises long-stay parking for guests, runs a free shuttle to every terminal from 5:00, and the El Capricho metro takes you into the city if your trip starts with a day in Madrid. Agree the parking terms when you book.
AC Hotel Coslada Aeropuerto has the cheapest daily rate here at €14 and a free on-request shuttle from about 7:00 to 23:00; a very early flight needs a taxi instead. Crowne Plaza Madrid Airport charges €18 for covered 24-hour parking, and its €5 shuttle starts at 6:05.
If you just need overnight parking
For one night before an early flight, any hotel with parking beats leaving a car in a terminal garage. Meliá Barajas has a private guest car park and a shuttle from 4:30, the earliest start of any hotel here. Novotel Madrid Feria and Airport has paid on-site parking and connects by metro rather than shuttle. ibis Madrid Aeropuerto Barajas keeps the total lowest; pair its parking with a five-minute taxi.
Rates change and long-stay terms vary by season. Confirm prices with the hotel before you commit to leaving a car for a week.
